I think it opened in September and I read some of the reviews on it. I hope they (Cherokee Valley River Casino) read the reviews and improve this destination because we will never be back along with a lot of other folks after reading some of the other reviews. Tight is complementing them! All in all, take the time to drive to Cherokee. The casino is so smoky it's hard to stay in there and if your lucky enough to get a machine don't think your going to come out ahead. If you want good food, go into downtown Waynesville. The rest of the restaurants are just fast food places. No real breakfast place, except Starbucks if you wish to pay a small fortune for even coffee. We chose to pull the fridge out from it's 'cubby hole' and plug it into a outlet by the desk. In order to plug it in, you had to pull the bureau it was on, out from the wall to reach the plug, then leaving said bureau halfway into the room. NO clock, there was a mini-fridge in the room but it was not plugged in. NO comparison! Although our room was nice I think they hurried to open.
Had a free night so my husband and I took advantage of the offer on our way to Cherokee.
